I’m not too sure how many of you actually still read this blog, since I don’t post in it very often.
But to those of you who do, thanks!
I will be heading downstate Wednesday morning to broadcast the Gladstone Indians games in the state tournament in Gladwin. And then from there, once the Indians are done, it will be on to suburban Detroit to broadcast the Gladstone 9-10 girls in their state tournament game. And then, well, it’s home.
It is sad that there were no Little League All-Star teams above age 12 in Delta County this summer.
So, that means no trip to Indiana or Illinois for girls regionals. And no road trip to Delaware to the World Series, like we had the past two summers. Those were fun times, indeed. But Little League goes in cycles around here, and this group of kids and families are kind of burnt out when it comes to long trips. Or, they are still doing it, but in Travel Ball.
I want to invite everyone to come out to the Gladstone Sports Park Tuesday morning and cheer on the Kingsford 11-12 year-old Major Boys. They are playing in the state tournament that we are hosting here, and the 16-team tournament is now down to its Final Four. Kingsford will play a tough Grosse Pointe team at 11:00 ET, after two downstate teams, Dexter and Bay City Northwest, play in the 9 a.m. game. U.P. Power!
