Blog: Jack’s Holiday Weekend Reflections

I hope you all had a great holiday weekend.

I spent mine with a mixture of family time, and working.

Yep, I was on the air pretty much all weekend, filling in for Don Curran on the morning news on several of our RRN stations…plus, I got to broadcast a bunch of American Legion baseball games down in Marinette.

I must say that, other than Friday night’s long rain delay, it was an enjoyable time in Marinette. The people there treat me so well, and I got to see some good baseball out of the Gladstone Indians. That team is mighty good, folks.

It was also great to spend some time with my mom and dad, and eating my mom’s cooking NEVER gets old! Neither does watching the Twilight Zone marathon on Syfy with my sister.

I was extremely impressed with the Escanaba fireworks display, and so was everyone I talked with tonight. It was longer than usual, good quality, and it more than made up for last year’s problems.

Also, I couldn’t help but think a bit about the guys I know from the U.P. who are serving in the military in far away places. We take so much for granted…

Hope all of you had a good holiday!
