A little girl was rescued in Rapid River on Friday after being found naked and laying in a ditch under freezing cold conditions.
Delta County Sheriffs Deputies say that a citizen and his dog found the three-year-old at about 11:15 in the morning. The man wrapped the child in his shirt, took her inside to get warm, and she was taken to Saint Francis Hospital.
The girl turned out to be OK, but police were called anyway. Delta County Sheriffs Deputies eventually found the parents, and when they went inside the home, they found unsafe and unsanitary living conditions there.
Child Protective Services was called in and the girl…along with another young girl…were removed.
The case has now been sent to the Delta County Prosecutor for possible action.
